Johnny Sexton is in line to feature against France this weekend having taken a full part in this morning’s training session in Kildare.
The Leinster playmaker has missed Ireland’s opening two Six Nations games with a calf problem, but looks set to make his comeback against Les Blues in Ireland’s crucial Six Nations clash this weekend.
Sexton is expected to start ahead of Paddy Jackson this weekend, providing he doesn’t suffer any setbacks, despite the Ulster star’s impressive form.
Rob Kearney (bicep) and Conor Murray (tightness), who were both managed during training since the win over Italy, also came through training unscathed this morning.
Ireland skills coach Richie Murphy said:
“[Johnny’s] a big member of the squad, he’s a big presence in the room, his leadership in important to the team and the group
“He’s done this before, he’s been out for long periods and come back in and been really good
“We do feel he’ll be ready to go.
“It’s just a selection issue, there’s no doubt about his fitness.”
