Ireland international hooker Ronan Kelleher is set to be called up to the British and Irish Lions squad next week, according to multiple reports this morning.
The Leinster hooker put in an excellent display last night, scoring four tries as an inexperienced Ireland side made light work of the USA at the Aviva Stadium, in an impressive 71-10 victory.
The Lions don’t have any injuries at hooker currently, with Ken Owens, Luke Cowan-Dickie and Jamie George currently battling it out for a Test jersey but it’s believed Gatland wants to have a fourth hooker in camp as we head into the Test series with everything that is going on.
Kelleher will have no problem getting up to speed having already spent two weeks training with the Lions in Jersey, where he left a lasting impression on the coaches.
