Pat Lam is all set to bring a bit of Ireland with him to Bristol next season.
The current Connacht head coach is set to take over at the English outfit at the end of the season, and is already playing a heavy hand in the recruitment process having brought in Steven Luatua on a £650,000 deal.
Reports from The Rugby Paper suggested today that the Premiership strugglers have overtaken Northampton in the bid to sign the Irish playmaker, with The42 now saying a deal is indeed almost done with a release fee agreed with Bordeaux.
Bristol seem almost certain to get relegated this season, but it seems the lure of working with Pat Lam and joining his revolution was enough to seal a deal for Madigan.
The English outfit have also signed Samoan centre Alapati Leiua and have been heavily linked with moves for All Blacks TJ Perenara and Ryan Crotty.
