Been there, done that.
Johnny Sexton broke French heart yesterday evening with an incredible drop-goal in the final seconds of the game to secure a 15-3 win for Ireland in Paris.
The world-class effort was nailed from over 40 metres, after a whopping 41 phases from Ireland in the build-up. It now means Ireland’s hopes of a Grand Slam are still alive, with three home games now to come in-a-row.
After the game Sexton mentioned a similar effort against Treviso a few years back that he drew on. It’s actually incredible when you watch the kick and see just how similar they are.
“I went back to many years ago, when we played Treviso away. I was in that exact same position, an almost identical situation.” Sexton said.
