OPTA have released their official Guinness PRO14 team of the season based purely on statistics with no fewer than nine teams featuring.
Leinster’s James Lowe has been ranked as the top performer, and interestingly – is the only Leinster player in the team, despite the eastern province winning the competition.
Munster-bound Tadhg Beirne makes the cut, along with teammates Aaron Shingler, Rob Evans and Steff Evans. Ireland internationals Bundee Aki, Finlay Bealham and John Cooney are also included, as is Ulster’s Charles Piutau.
