Further Woe For Racing 92 As Two More Players Fail Drugs Tests

Racing 92 just can’t seem to catch a break this season.

The French side enjoyed a breakout year last season with the addition of Dan Carter to their ranks. The mercurial ten guided them to Top 14 glory as well as the final of the Champions Cup, where they narrowly lost to a very strong Saracens side.

This year however has been a disaster, and things are about to get worse. It started with Carter, Imhoff and Rokocoko embroiled in a TUE scandal, which they were cleared of, but has since been reopened.

Then there’s the crazy Johan Goosen retirement saga which lingers on, and to top it all off, they were dumped out of Europe before Christmas, and find themselves struggling in the Top 14 championship as well.

Now two more players have failed drugs tests in the form of French internationals Yannick Nyanga and Brice Dulin. The pair have been flagged by the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) following routine anti-doping controls for the substance higenamine.

Dulin, has pleaded his innocence, insisting the pre-workout supplement he used was approved by the AFLD.

Both Racing stars will appear in before the AFLD on January 26th, with the commission’s findings and potential sanctions to follow.
