France’s chances of a first Grand Slam in nearly a decade have just been dealy a major blow with prop Mohamed Haouas sent off for a punch to the face on Scotland’s Jamie Ritchie.
The tighthead and Ritchie got involved in a scuffle that sparked a big melee between the two teams, with the French international losing his cool and landing one square on the back-rower.
Referee Paul Wiliams consulted with his assistant Wayne Barnes as well as the TMO and after careful consideration, decided a red card was the only option.
Scotland took the three points from the resulting penalty and have just grabbed their first try through Sean Maitland to take a 14-7 lead into half-time. A massive second half to come.
