“Not D.”
France proved all their doubters wrong yesterday evening with an inspired display against Ireland. Les Blues were given no chance against Joe Schmidt’s men, but pushed them right until the very last second.
Their defence was incredible at times, but in the end they were downed by a moment of sheer brilliance from Johnny Sexton, who sunk an almost impossible dropkick from over 40 metres.
After the game the French were understandably heartbroken, and when the Six Nations Twitter account asked for their highlight of the first day, things were still a little tender.
The French categorically said no to D, which was Sexton’s effort to win the game. Irish Rugby disagreed. Brilliant banter.
