New deal.
Former Ulster and Ireland centre Stuart Olding has signed a contract extension with PRO D2 side Brive that will keep him at the French club until at least 2020.
The 25-year-old made the move to France over the summer after having his contract revoked by the IRFU following a high-profile rape trial along with former teammate Paddy Jackson, who also now plies his trade in France with Perpignan.
Belfast-born Olding, who initially signed just a one-year deal with Brive and has four caps for Ireland, expressed his gratitude for the welcome he has received from his new club as he rebuilds his rugby career.
“After three or four days spent in Brive, it already felt like home,” he said.
“There is a good group of friends, with very good players. I am quite impressed by the rugby here.
“I was also impressed by the fans, who know how to be heard. I received a really fantastic welcome and for all these reasons I want to stay in Brive for next year.”
