Former Munster & Gloucester coach Laurie Fisher is no longer out of work.
Fisher famously walked away from his job as head coach at Gloucester via social media, stating that it was time someone else took over. Fisher posted a Tweet following the Cherry and Whites capitulation against Harlequins and left the club by mutual consent shortly after.
Since then he has accepted a role at Cheltenham Civil Service coaching the first team and will be paid in beer for his services.
The former Brumbies and Munster coach was approached on Twitter by Marcus Johns, the Civil Service forwards coach, he said:
“If you’re at a loose end these days, fancy coming to take a session at local club Cheltenham Civil Service RFC – couple of beers in it for you.”
Rugby at its best.
