Former Leinster boss Matt O’Connor has emerged as the strong favourite to take the Leicester Tigers Director of Rugby role next season.
O’Connor is no stranger to the Tigers having spent four seasons with the Premiership side as their head coach. He left Welford Road back in 2013 to take charge of Leinster, with whom he won the PRO12 win in his first season.
His second season at Leinster however didn’t work out as well and ultimately it was decided he would leave the Irish province after just two seasons in charge.
O’Connor has since had spells with the Queensland Reds (attack coach) and the Tonga national side as an assistant coach.
Leicester are without a boss since sacking Richard Cockerill back in Janury after a disappointing run of games.
