Well, this is awkward.
Barbarians fans were absolutely delighted this week when the famous invitational side announced three more superstars for their game against Samoa in November.
Wallabies playmaker Quade Cooper and Springbok duo Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe were announced on Monday, adding to an already stacked squad that is set to feature the likes of Duane Vermeulen, Malcolm Marx, Pablo Matera, Len Ikitau, Nic White, and Pete Samu.
But it appears someone forgot to tell Quade Cooper he’d been called up with the 33-year-old denying he will line out for the Barbarians in November due to club commitments.
It’s a huge blow for the Barbarians with Cooper in excellent form, having starred in the Rugby Championship following his surprise recall to the Australia squad.
