Cash money.
When All Blacks captain Kieran Read revealed back in November that he will likely leave New Zealand following the 2019 Rugby World Cup – he was never going to have a shortage of potential suitors.
The back-row forward is one of the best players on the planet and understandably has already received a huge amount of interest, with clubs in Europe and Japan hot on his signature.
But the first apparent concrete offer has come from French giants Racing 92, who have offered the number eight a whopping €1.2 million a year to sign for them according to Midi Olympique.
Racing already have the likes of Donnacha Ryan, Finn Russell, Pat Lambie, Teddy Thomas, Simon Zebo and Joe Rokocoko on their books and have previously been home to another All Blacks legend in Dan Carter. A tempting offer for Read no doubt.
