The RFU and Premiership Rugby have appointed Dr Julian Morris to be the independent chairman and will be joined by the RFU’s Director of Professional Rugby Nigel Melville and Phil Winstanley the Rugby Director at Premiership Rugby.
A joint RFU/Premiership Rugby update will be provided on the 20th January.
The CMRG last convened to examine the incident involving George North in a Premiership tie between Northampton & Leicester. North was knocked unconscious in the game, only to reutn minutes later, despite protocol suggesting otherwise.
Northampton were not punished as a result of the investigation by the group but were slated for the way in which they dealt with it.
