England Lock Courtney Lawes In “Advanced” Talks For Shock Move Away From Northampton Saints

England lock Courtney Lawes is in “advanced” talks with PRO D2 side Beziers ahead of next season according to Midi Olympique in a potential big-money move.

The French side are set to be taken over by Emirati investors who are set to pump millions into the club in a bid to make them one of the top sides in Europe in the coming years and Lawes appears to be top of an impressive wishlist that includes Wallaby Marika Korobeite, former All Black Ma’a Nonu and former Puma Juan Imhoff.

Lawes is currently contracted through to 2021, having but the report claims that Beziers would buy him out of his contract at Northampton, potentially at the cost of whopping €1.5 million (£1.37 million).

Former Australia and Leinster boss Michael Cheika is also being lined up as Beziers’ new head coach.

Lawes continues to be a key player for England under Eddie Jones but would be unavailable for selection if he moved to France.
