Citing.
England made it two wins from two at the 2019 World Cup this morning with a thumping 45-7 win over USA at Kobe Misaki Stadium in Kobe City.
But the win might have come at a cost with centre Piers Francis in danger of being cited following a high, no-arms tackle early on in the game.
There seems to be very little mitigation with the USA player only slightly ducking as the hit comes in. Francis appears to attempt to wrap but fails to do so as his shoulder connect high and with force into the face.
Australia’s Reece Hodge was handed a three-week ban yesterday for a similar hit on Fiji’s Peceli Yato in their opening game. Samoa meanwhile are yet to be cited for two very controversial hits of their own against Russia.
What do you think of this hit from Francis? Ban incoming?
