Man down.
Ben Spencer will join the England squad tomorrow in Japan as an injury replacement for Willi Heinz.
Heinz injured his hamstring during England’s Rugby World Cup semi-final win over New Zealand yesterday. The Gloucester will remain with the squad until the end of the tournament but will play no further part.
Spencer meanwhile looks set to go straight into England’s matchday squad for the final with Ben Youngs the only other recognised nine in the squad.
The 27-year-old scrumhalf has three caps for England to his name and is a three-time European champion with Saracens.
