From favourite for the captaincy, to not even making the squad.
We always knew when Dylan Hartley was banned for taking Sean O’Brien’s head off, his chances of Lions selection were in trouble.
While Hartley sat at home, Ken Owens and Jamie George took their chance. He may have returned in time for the Six Nations, but it was already too late for the Northampton man.
Once again an England captain fails to make the squad, but are we all that surprised.
Hartley has responded to being excluded on Twitter and in fairness to him, he’s responded well.
Congrats to all selected, especially @George_North @Courtney_Lawes . Head down, keep grafting, work to be done in Argentina #firgun
