The Clermont star hasn’t played for his country since the 2015 Rugby World Cup, but has been in fine form of late, starting in the win over Ospreys on Saturday. Bordeaux’s Baptiste Serin has been drafted in as a replacement.
Fullback Brice Dulin has also been forced to pull out of the squad. The Racing 92 man suffered a calf injury in the win over Leicester yesterday. Toulon’s Hugo Bonneval has been brought in as a replacement.
France will also be without Mathieu Bastareaud for the game against Ireland on February 3. The Toulon centre was banned for his use of a homophobic slur in round 5 five the Champions Cup.
