The master.
Italy head coach Conor O’Shea has compared Irish sensation Jordan Larmour to legendary former All Blacks and Hurricanes fullback Christian Cullen following his sensational performance in Chicago last night.
For those of you unfamiliar with Cullen, the the 60-times capped All Black, who also had a four-year stint with Munster, is widely considered as the greatest fullback to have ever played the game.
Cullen was an unbelievable strike-runner, who became famous for his incredible ability to attack from anywhere on the pitch, backing his footwork, skill and pace in almost any situation.
O’Shea says he sees similar traits in the 21-year-old Leinster prodigy, who bagged a hat-trick against his side last night.
“He can run, we all know that,” said O’Shea.
“You would all love to be able to do that. He does remind you of a young Christian Cullen in what he can do.
“I’m sure that there are certain areas of his game that he knows he needs to work on as well but if you give someone space and time with his ability, it’s going to cost you and we did.”
Here’s a reminder of just how good Cullen was. High praise indeed from O’Shea.
