Nasty.
Connacht number eight Abraham Papali’i has just been red-carded just 25 minutes into his debut for the western province following a head-high shoulder to Munster’s Conor Murray.
The hit at first wasn’t picked up by referee Frank Murphy but following some consultation with TMO Olly Hodges, Murphy felt like he had no choice but to send off the monstrous back-row.
Papali’i looked hugely impressive in the opening quarter, putting in some huge hits and making a massive rip from CJ Stander in the opening minutes to save Connacht while they were desperately defending their own line.
Have a look at the hit for yourself below. Was a red card the right decision?
RED CARD!
25 mins:
Munster 14-0 Connacht.
