Ian Madigan revealed yesterday that we would be open to joining any of the four provinces.
The Bordeaux playmaker is set to leave the French outfit at the end of the season, with a move back to Ireland his preferred option.
A move back to Leinster is top of Madigan’s list, but also said that a move to Connacht would excite him. The western province would be the most viable option of the four province’s, but it seems they’re not interested.
“I think Ian Madigan is a fine player in fairness, but Ian Madigan is in France and he is contracted to another team at the moment anyway,” said Connacht CEO Willie Ruane.
“And we have some pretty good out-halves at Connacht Rugby, so I think we are pretty happy with where we are at.”
Connacht have the likes of Springbok Marnitz Boshoff and Jack Carty on their books and it looks like they’re happy with what they have.
What next for Madigan? Would any of the other three provinces have him?
