The deal is off.
Connacht Rugby have confirmed that following discussions with Eroni Vasiteri it has been agreed by both parties that Vasiteri’s planned move to Connacht will not now proceed.
Due to a recent suspension the Fijian centre would not have been in a position to proceed with the move until later in the season. Vasiteri was involved in an incident against Canberra Viking’s hooker Folau Fainga’a on 29th and was found guilty of eye-gouging.
He received a nine-week ban as a result.
Connacht Rugby have wished Vasiteri every success in his future career and hope to make an announcement on an alternative signing shortly.
