Confirmed: Richard Cockerill Set To Take Over At PRO12 Club

Richard Cockerill has been announced as the new head coach of PRO12 side Edinburgh.

The 46-year-old former Leicester Tigers boss takes over from acting head coach Duncan Hodge from the start of next season.

Cockerill has been given a two-year deal by the Scottish side.

House of Rugby is back with a brand new URC show – hosted by RugbyLAD founder Jason Hennessy, Ireland international Megan Williams and Olympic sevens star, Greg O'Shea. Follow and subscribe to it HERE.

The Englishman has been working in an advisory role with Toulon since leaving the Tigers and will continue to do so until the end of the season alongside Mike Ford.

Premiership side Worcester Warriors were also said to have been interested in Cockerill, but as reported by The Rugby Paper yesterday, were hesitant in making a decision until their future was secured, allowing Edinburgh to swoop in.
