Hurry up and build a statue of this man already.
Ahead of this weekend’s massive Guinness PRO12 final clash between Munster and Scarlets, CJ Stander has been named an ambassador of Limerick for his outstanding commitment, support and encouragement of the people of Limerick” and for ‘his promotion of the region.”
The Ireland and Munster back-row was welcomed with open arms when he arrived in the Treaty City back in 2012 and has gone on to become an integral member of both the Munster and Ireland team. He recently bought his first home in Limerick and will represent the British & Irish Lions this summer.
Speaking to the Limerick Leader, the South African born star says Limerick has looked after him and his family ever since they first arrived and made them part of the city.
“When I arrived here, the biggest thing that I felt that Limerick city is full of people who look after their own, and they pulled me in from the beginning, and looked after me and my family. They made us part of the city.”
Congratulations CJ. You can read his full interview with the Limerick Leader here.
