Munster’s European dream came to an abrupt end on Saturday with defending champions Saracens coming out on top at the Aviva.
Almost 50,000 Munster fans descended upon Dublin in a sea of red, but it was not enough to get their province over the line, who were simply beaten by the better side.
For a lot of the players on the pitch Saturday, it was their first crack at a European semi-final, and they will no doubt have learned an awful lot from the experience. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but it’s not the end of the road for this current crop of players.
CJ Stander battled through a ankle injury on Saturday to start the game. While he was clearly not 100%, there’s absolutely now way he was missing the all-important clash. The back-row posted a stirring message yesterday, thanking the supporters, letting them know the story lives on.
