New plan.
The British and Irish Lions have decided to alter their schedule ahead of the tour of South Africa in order to minimise travel with new opponents added to their schedule.
The cities of Port Elizabeth, Durban and Nelspruit will no longer host games with the Lions set to play their entire eight-game slate across just three cities – Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town.
They have also dropped their game with the South Africa Invitational XV with Super Rugby side the Lions replacing them, meaning all four heavyweight franchises will now be part of the schedule.
The game against Japan in Scotland before they fly out will still go ahead as scheduled on June 26.
