BREAKING: Scotland Have Secured Their Place For The RWC Quarter-Finals

Sorry, Scotland.

Scotland have just secured their place for the quarter-finals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Gregor Townsend’s men were defeated 28-21 by tournament hosts Japan, knocking them out of the competition. But all is not lost…

They’ve now secured themselves a flight home to Scotland where they can watch the quarter-finals on a lovely new flatscreen television which was bought as an insurance policy by the SRU ahead of the tournament.

“World Rugby weren’t prepared to facilitate us if the game was unable to go ahead today, but here at the SRU we’ve always had ‘robust contingency plans’ in place should we get knocked out,” SRU chief executive Mark Dodson said*

“I bought the lads a lovely 50 inch, 4k ready flatscreen television before we flew out. We’ll have it up and running for the team when they get back and hold onto their place for the quarter-finals.

*This entire article is completely made up for a bit of a laugh. We love you really Scotland. No hard feelings.
