All Blacks duo Malakai Fekitoa and Sam Cane have been cited for “allegedly tackling an opponent dangerously” in yesterday’s win over Ireland.
A statement from Autumn International Disciplinary read:
“Sam Cane, the New Zealand flank forward, [cited] for allegedly tackling an opponent dangerously in the 11th minute of the first half of the match between Ireland and New Zealand at the Aviva Stadium (Law 10.4 (e) )
“Malakai Fekitoa, the New Zealand centre, for allegedly tackling an opponent dangerously in the same match (Law 10.4 (e) )
“Disciplinary hearings for the players will be held in the next two days in front of independent disciplinary committees of three.”
Cane’s tackle resulted in Robbie Henshaw being stretchered off early in the first-half while Fekitoa was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle on Simon Zebo in the second-half.
