Munster will be without the services of back-row Conor Oliver for the rest of 2018, with the young forward set to have surgery.
Oliver sustained a shoulder injury during pre-season, with Munster issuing a squad update last week, revealing he will have to have a procedure to correct the problem. A timeline has now been given, with Oliver out until the new year.
The young flanker was hugely impressive last season, featuring regularly, making 15 appearances. He put in a a man-of-the-match performance in last April’s win over Glasgow Warriors and scored four tries.
In other injury news, summer signing Gerbrandt Grobler is to see a specialist next week after picking up an ankle injury in last week’s pre-season game against Worcester Warriors, while James Cronin has been ruled out pf the opening rounds of the Guinness PRO14 after he underwent a knee scope.
