Ian Keatley close to finalising a deal with Bayonne according to French media.
Keatley becomes the latest Munster star to be linked with a lucrative move to France, with loosehead Dave Kilcoyne also rumoured to have attracted interest from a number of high-profile clubs.
The playmaker has slipped down in the pecking order this season, limited to the bench for most of the season thats to the exploits of Tyler Bleyendall, who has been in excellent form so far this season.
Keatley arrived from Connacht, following O’Gara’s retirement and hasn’t been able to come any bit close to filling the former Ireland legend’s shoes. He’s also way down in the pecking order for Joe Schmidt’s Ireland team, so perhaps a move to France would be good for him.
Munster have already held informal talks with JJ Hanrahan about a move back home, so a Keatley exit would make perfect sense should he return from Northampton.
