Austin Healey is no stranger when it comes to getting in a scrap with his teammates. Just ask Brian O’Driscoll and Ronan O’Gara. Andy Goode can also testament to that, having got in a bit of fisticuffs with Healey as a young fly-half at Leicester Tigers. Healey has previously told the story, but Goode wants to set the record straight.
The story goes that Healey didn’t like playing at scrumhalf, but preferred to be the boss at ten. A 19-year-old Goode however was preferred in the playmaker role when the two were together a Leicester.
Being a good(e) professional, Goode decided to go for some kicking practice after a Leicester training session when he got into a bit an altercation with Healey, who by the sounds of it, was being a complete and utter tool. We’ll let Andy Goode tell you the rest below…
