The cheek of him.
Ireland capped off pretty spectacular season at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney this morning with a 20-16 win over Australia, to take their summer series 2-1.
It’s the first time Ireland have won a series against the Wallabies in over 40 years, and further cements their status as the number two team in the world right now.
The game itself was, as expected, a pretty fiery affair. The hits were monstrous, and the crowd was electric. But one Aussie fan took it a bit too far, with a cheeky ‘English’ jibe aimed at the Irish. He was spotted on a camera with this message on his back:
“The Irish? Yer all English 2 me! Pls call 0433704123.”
Former Ireland and Munster flanker Alan Quinlan was on commentary for the clash, and he had the perfect response to jibe.
“What that fella needs now is a good slap on the back,” Quinlan said.
“A stinger, they call it. Put a bit of manners on him.”
