Irish Rugby has been nominated five times in the 2019 RTE Sport Awards across three different categories, including Sportsperson of the Year.

Both Ireland and Leinster have been nominated for Team of the Year after fantastic seasons. Ireland secured a Six Nations Grand Slam, as well as a series win over Australia and a victory over the All Blacks, while Leinster completed a famous PRO14 and Champions Cup double.

Meanwhile the coaches of both sides, Joe Schmidt and Leo Cullen, have been nominated for Manager of the Year. And finally, World Player of the Year Johnny Sexton has been nominated for the Sportsperson of the Year award.

Darragh Maloney and Joanne Cantwell will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2018 live on RTÉ One this Saturday December 15 at 9.20pm.
