Surely he knew he was never gonna get away with this?
We witnessed one of the most blatant acts of cheating recently as Counties-Manukau took on Bay of Plenty in the Mitre 10 Cup.
With Bay of Plenty on the attack, just five metres from Counties-Manukau try line, scrumhalf Augustine Pulu felt the padding on the posts were in his way, and decided to rip them clean off the posts, right in front of the referee.
Obviously this isn’t allowed, and the referee stopped the game immediately to let Pulu know…
“You can’t do that. Put it back up.”
Pulu managed to cool Bay of Plenty’s momentum, with the referee awarding a scrum. They did however, score off the next play, but Pulu deserves a mention for this hilarious moment.
