It’s official, Jaco Taute is an absolute beast.
The South African centre has been a revelation with Munster this season having initially signed on a short-term deal before signing a contract until the end of the season. The Springbok has been a dominant force on the pitch, and it’s easy to see why, thanks to this latest clip.
In a video narrated by Aled Walters, Munster’s Head of Fitness, the southern province can been seen put through the paces at their new state of the art training facility at the University of Limerick.
Munster have been praised for their phenomenal work rate and defensive efforts, and it all comes down to the intensity of their training.
“It is nice that our data, with GPS information, shows that we spend a very high proportion of our training at at least match pace.” Walters said.
We are training at an intensity that is above match pace.”
As for Taute, he can be seen bench pressing 60kg dumbbells, while Stander can be seen pushing himself to the very limit for one more rep. There’s also an excellent clip that shows Stander’s motivational skills as he roars at teammate Rory Scannell to push out that last rep. Top class from the back-row.
