Absolutely smashed.
A lot of people are complaining that the new tackle laws are somewhat softening the game, but thankfully it hasn’t affected hits like this monstrous one by England and Northampton lock Courtney Lawes.
Scrumhalf Will Cliff decided to make a break off the back of a ruck and try a rather audacious offload, only to run into the towering second-row and get absolutely flattened in what we think was the hit of the weekend.
Cliff definitely won’t attempt a break like this again if he sees the Englishman lurking.
Not only did Lawes stop Cliff dead in his tracks, his Northampton side stopped Bristol’s recent resurgence, with a 32-26 win.
