Wasps look set to miss out on Australian fullback Kurtley Beale.
It was reported last week that the Premiership side had secured a €1.5m deal with the utility back, however it now seems that that deal is about to fall through.
As a result, Wasps have instead made contact with British and Irish Lions fullback, Leigh Halfpenny who currently plays his rugby with Top 14 giants Toulon.
With Charles Piutau set to join up with Ulster from next season, it looks highly likely that Wasps will replace the former All Black with a marquee signing this summer.
