Waikato and East Coast squared up to each other in what was one of the most tense Haka’s we have ever seen.
The two rivals clashed in Ruatoria yesterday for their Shield Challenge match. The players went nose to nose surrounded by supporters in one of the most fiery Haka’s ever.
Some observers suggested that East Coast disrespected Waikato – yellow, black and red stripes – by infringing too close to their opponents (France Vs New Zealand anyone?), but it did not affect their performance as Waikato ran out convincing 65- 10 victors.
