The return.
Former Ulster scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar is set for a return to Ulster Rugby next season as an assistant coach according to reports in South Africa.
South African write Mark Keohane is reporting that Springboks boss Rassie Erasmus reached out to Pienaar to see if he would be interesting in playing for his national side this summer in a stunning return, but his approach was rebuffed.
Pienaar instead told him he would be hanging up his boots at the end the season with Montpellier and instead taking up a coaching role with the Irish province.
Our sources last weekend also told us that Pienaar has already began moving his stuff back to Ireland, but we were waiting on further confirmation before we could say anything. Our source works for a moving company that has been transporting his belongings.
A massive boost for Ulster if it goes ahead, with Pienaar stating many times in the past that he always intended on returning to Belfast.
My understanding is when Rassie contacted him he confirmed he was not available as he is to take up a coaching role with Ulster next year & would sign off as a player this season with @MHR_officiel But I agree with @jacq_west he is still best SA No9 https://t.co/AfYxFrGeMg
