You’ll never beat the Irish.
Munster and Ireland legend Ronan O’Gara has gotten off to an excellent start in New Zealand with the Crusaders.
The Super Rugby champions are now top of the New Zealand conference, after they secured a hard fought 14-8 win over last year’s beaten finalists the Lions in Ellis Park yesterday afternoon.
O’Gara joined the Crusaders’ coaching ticket as an assistant to head coach Scott Robertson ahead of the new season, and appears to be settling in rather nicely.
Not only did his side secure a huge win yesterday, O’Gara was also left with a very special gift from an Irishman in his hotel in Johannesburg after the game.
The message reads:
“FAO Ronan O’Gara”
“I didn’t get an opportunity to buy you a drink last night!”
“Thanks for the memories over the years… in green and red!”
“Hopefully more to come”
“Enjoy a taste of Cork”
To the Irish man who left this at the hotel reception in Johannesburg last night, thanks a lot. #you’llneverbeattheIrish pic.twitter.com/Kl0a3z72Me
