Old friends.
Munster lock RG Snyman is set to leave Munster Rugby at the end of the season and his next destination looks set to be a surprise one.
Snyman has played just 10 games for Munster since his arrival back in 2020, suffering two season-ending cruciate knee injuries among other issues during his time with the reigning URC champions.
He’s currently sidelined with a chest/shoulder injury picked up at the Rugby World Cup while playing for the Springboks and isn’t expected to be back in action until March of next year.
Speculation as to where he will be playing his rugby next year has been rife, with reports that a move to one of the South Africa URC franchises was on the cards. But it now looks like he’s going to make a surprise move to the Premiership to link up with the man who brought him to Europe in the first place.
According to French journalist JF Paturaud in L’Equipe, Snyman has accepted a deal worth £450,000-a-season to join Bath and once again link up with Johann van Graan.
An interesting move to say the least.
