South Africa kept their dreams of retaining the Rugby World Cup alive on Sunday night with a stunning win over holders France in the quarter-finals.
The Boks came into the game as underdogs and found themselves behind after just four minutes when France prop Cyril Baille bagged the opening try of the game.
But the holders fought back through Kurt Lee-Arendse before the two sides went on to trade two more tries each in the first half in a World Cup knockout match for the ages.
Eben Etzebeth then scored a crucial try for South Africa in the second half as they went on to overcome France by a single point in a 29-28 win.
Rassie Erasmus was once again in the headlines this week for some accusations made about the French, but as soon as the final whistle was blown it was all about the celebrations…
Rassie Erasmus certainly enjoyed South Africa’s win over France 😂😭 #RWC2023pic.twitter.com/ZUuImgxYla
