A nice touch.
Auckland Blues skills coach Dave Ellis will face the Lions this Wednesday and ahead of the clash has been showing off his special Connacht Rugby tribute following their PRO12 triumph.
Ellis was Connacht’s skills coach alongside Pat Lam during the famous triumph and marked the occasion with a special tattoo on the calf of his leg.
Connacht first signed Ellis on a one-year deal in 2013, after the Putaruru man had spent 11 years coaching at the International Rugby Academy of New Zealand. Ellis also had stints coaching in Argentina, Hong Kong, South Africa, USA and with New Zealand’s women’s team.
He moved to the Blues ahead of the 2017 season and has been working alongside Tana Umaga ever since.
