Munster Rugby are set to add to their front-row stocks by raiding one of their rival provinces ahead of next season.
The province has long been in the market for a tighthead, with Stephen Archer retiring last year and John Ryan set to hang up his boots at the end of this season.
Former Leinster prop Michael Ala’alatoa was brought in from Clermont on a short-term deal that likely won’t be extended, leaving Munster down to their bare bones at tighthead.
But they have now moved to sign Jack Aungier from Connacht, with The Irish Examiner reporting they have agreed a deal with the former Leinster academy graduate.
Aungier made his debut for Ireland against Georgia last summer and has played over 100 games for the western province.
