The Munster Rugby Medical Department have issued the below update following Saturday’s win over Connacht at the Sportsground. The southern province are currently sweating on the fitness of a number of key players ahead of Friday’s crucial Champions Cup clash with Gloucester.
John Ryan was removed as a precaution for a head injury assessment in the first half of Saturday night’s game. He has completed the HIA process and has been cleared to train.
Chris Farrell suffered a right knee injury and will be assessed by the medical department today.
Chris Cloete (neck) will be reintegrated into team training this week.
JJ Hanrahan is currently being assessed by the medical department for a left hip injury. Captain Peter O’Mahony and centre Dan Goggin also picked up knocks in the Connacht win, but should be ok come Friday.
