England

England will be heavily tested after a poor World Cup and it is yet to be seen if their new coaching staff will improve them or drive then further into the ground. With two extremes in mind, we’ve went with a middle of the pack finish.

Star Man: Jonathan Joseph

One To Watch: Maro Itoje

Predicted Finish: Third

Wildcard Prediction: Not having strong forwards may cost them against Ireland and Wales.

Anthem Rating: 4/10

Can Eddie Jones improve England’s awful form?

France

France, like England, are coming off a shocking World Cup display and have left the hope of reconstruction in the hands of a new coach. However, I predict France will be different to their Channel counterparts and won’t transition as smoothly.

Star Man: Louis Picamoles

One To Watch: Sekou Macalou

Predicted Finish: Fifth

Wildcard Prediction: France’s new system may give teams like Italy or Scotland to take advantage of a French team in transition.

Anthem Rating: 10/10

Young Macalou destroyed Munster with a long range try in the Champions Cup.

Ireland

Ireland not having Peter O’Mahony or Iain Henderson will affect their line-outs and rucks costing them against a strong Welsh pack which we predict will give Schmidt his only loss in the Six Nations.

Star Man: Sean O’Brien

One To Watch: Stuart McCloskey

Predicted Finish: First (Not Grand Slam)

Wildcard Prediction: Cj Stander to prove himself on the international scene knocking Jamie Heaslip off the Irish squad.

Amhran Na Fiann Rating: 7/10

Ireland’s Call Rating: 5/10

Can Ireland cope without Henderson and O’Mahony?

Italy

Italy come in as huge underdogs with star man and captain Sergio Parisse getting older and with their two club sides playing some of the worst rugby in Europe. Lets just say they will be happy to get one win and avoid the wooden spoon.

Star Man: Sergio Parisse

One To Watch: Samuela Vunisa

Predicted Finish: Sixth (Wooden Spoon)

Wildcard Prediction: If Italy can turn up than they might be able to beat transitioning teams France or England.

Anthem Rating: 6/10

Is this Parisse’s last year?

A fantastic World Cup, narrowly losing in the quarterfinals versus an undeserved Wallaby side will give the Scots plenty of energy and confidence for the championship. They may have arguably the most lethal backline of young guns of all and with a much improved pack compared to the years gone by, they may have more hope than most. This could be their time to shine.

Star Man: Stuart Hogg

One To Watch: Sam Hidalgo-Clyne

Predicted Finish: Fourth

Wildcard Prediction: Cause a shock result to a top team *cough England *cough.

Anthem Rating: 9/10

Stuart Hogg on his way to scoring their first try 15/2/2015

Can Hogg and Scotland finally improve their fortunes in the Six Nations?

Wales

Wales are strong favourites despite what Gatty says. They have a huge reliance on their forwards in this tournament due to long term injuries ruling out Halfpenny, Webb and Williams.

Star Man: Dan Biggar

One To Watch: Matthew Morgan

Predicted Finish: Second

Wildcard Prediction: Beat Ireland but lose to England or Scotland.

Anthem Rating: 8/10

Young Morgan is expected to light it up for Wales this year.
