Money talks.
Cash-rich Montpellier have reportedly put a European player record £1,000,000-a-season offer on the table for Glasgow Warriors and Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg.
It was reported back in May by the Daily Mail that Montpellier were lining up a bid for the two-time Lions tourist, who’s out of contract at the end of the season. But now it appears a formal offer has been made to the player, according to French outlet Midi Olympique.
Glasgow lost outhalf Finn Russell to the riches of France over the summer, with the Scotland international signing a deal with Racing 92, worth a reported £700,000-a-season.
They will be desperate to keep a hold of Hogg who will no doubt be tempted by the offer. The fact that he can still play international rugby while in France will make it a lot easier for him. Scotland have no overseas selection ban in place for their players.
