Reinforcements.
With Isa Nacewa playing his last game for Leinster on Saturday, head coach Leo Cullen has made it no secret that the Irish province will look to bolster their options in the centre ahead of next season. While Nacewa has played in multiple positions across the backline this season, he has been seen primarily as a 12.
And top be fair – Leinster are pretty well stocked in the back-three, but not so in the centres. Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose will likely miss large chunks of the season on international duty, so bringing in another midfield option is neccessary for the reigning PRO14 and European Cup champions ahead of next season.
Enter Joe Tomane. The Montpellier centre, who has played 17 times for the Wallabies and can play 12 or 13, is close to finalising a move to the eastern province according to The42.ie.
The 28-year-old has been with Montpellier since 2016 and would bring a wealth of experience with him. He would be a superb addition of Leinster can get it over the line. Nacewa will never be truly replaced, but bringing in Joe Tomane is a good start.
