Sale Sharks currently lead La Rochelle 10-7 in the Champions Cup round two pool clash – but the rugby has just been overshadowed by a moment of absolute stupidity that has no place in the game.
Hooker Pierre Bourgarit was sent-off after he got involved in an altercation between the two sides by eye-gouging England flanker Tom Curry.

Luckily the Sale Sharks man wasn’t injured too badly, but what a stupid and dangerous thing to do. He wasn’t even involved in the scuffle.
